Why do the children ride on charter buses?
District 90 needs a reliable bus company for its extracurricular transportation. The District does not currently have a contract for before and after school transportation because it does not provide daily bus service for students.
It is difficult to obtain reliable extracurricular transportation from yellow bus companies because those companies’ first obligation is to the schools districts with which they have daily transportation contracts. In addition, parent booster efforts and/or ticket sales subsidize the cost of bus transportation for some extracurricular events.
