Why does District 90 provide transportation to inter-scholastic sports events?

District 90 provides transportation to interscholastic “away” events because the students involved are attending these “school-sponsored” events as representatives of the District/school in competitive organized IESAA (Illinois Elementary School Athletic Association) sanctioned activities. As such, the school district has liability exposure with student participation and thus, controls those portions of the “experience” that limit that exposure. Student participants must adhere to all school guidelines and IESAA rules.
