School Referendum FAQ

Does my vote really count?

In 1998, the referendum passed by only a few hundred votes. In 1995, the referendum failed by 333 votes. The result was the loss of junior kindergarten and reduction in gym, music and art classes, cuts that were never restored. User fees were instituted for sports and extracurricular programs and clubs after the failed referendum and these fees have increased repeatedly since that time.

Once a referendum fails, it is almost impossible to restore programs that were eliminated or to maintain the educational excellence cultivated over time by students, teachers, parents and the community.

We need your YES vote on March 21, 2006 to preserve the high-quality education system that students receive in District 90 schools.

Your vote counts! Please vote "YES" for the referendum on March 21, 2006.
